Power Outage and Euclid Ave Road Block From Downed Power Lines Near Waterman Ave, Arlington Heights — More Areas Affected

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 8:38 PM Thursday to a report of downed power lines and a tree down near Euclid Avenue and Waterman Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Residents also reported a sparking transformer. Firefighter/paramedics confirmed that a power line was down in the area of Euclid Avenue and Waterman, and called for police for a traffic detour. ComEd was also called to the scene.

Arlington Heights Fire Department Engine 2 crew stood by until Com Ed arrived about 10:40 p.m. Euclid Avenue is possibly blocked as ComEd works to repair the line. Police radio traffic is encrypted, so no traffic updates are available. Also the Village of Arlington Heights does not report traffic incidents on Twitter or other social media.


The Village of Schaumburg reported traffic signals out Woodfield Rd. at Mall Dr. and Woodfield Road at Plaza Drive — associated with a power outage from an equipment failure.

Com Ed reports there are about five small power outages in the area affecting the area of Euclid Avenue and Ironwood, Euclid Avenue and Waterman Avenue, Euclid Avenue and Scottsvale Avenue, Euclid Avenue and Rolling Lane, Euclid Avenue and Prindle, Euclid Avenue and Forrest Avenue, Euclid Avenue and Gibbons Avenue, and possibly Gibbons and Fremont Street.

Power restoration time for Forrest Ave and Euclid Avenue are listed at 11:15 p.m. Thursday,February 20, 2014.

All other locations show restoration times of 8:00 a.m. Friday February 21, 2014.
