Fire at Sakura Restaurant and second floor apartments on Main Street between Northwest Highway and Busse Avenue.
Mount Prospect police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:15 AM Sunday to Sakura Japanese Sushi Restaurant, 105 South Main Street Mount Prospect, IL. Firefighter/paramedics are battling a restaurant fire at building fire near Northwest Highway and Main Street.
An extra-alarm fire extended from Sakura restaurant to apartments upstairs and businesses nearby. The Mount Prospect Chamber of Commerce offices are damaged.
Picket Fence Realty’s Mount Prospect location, 113 South Main Street, has at least smoke and water damage, Their Mount Prospect operations will immediately be available at the Arlington Heights location on Arlington Heights Road just south of Sigwalt Street.
Firefighters were battling hard to stop the fire from spreading to Central Continental Bakery at 101 South Main Street and just north of the main area of fire. Fire broke through much of the roof of the building.
At this time it is unknown if the fire started in Sakura restaurant or an apartment upstairs.
