Apple is planning to introduce a new Apple TV set-top box as early as April and has been negotiating with Time Warner Cable (see Comcast Deal) and other potential partners to add video content, according to people with knowledge of the matter. Bloomberg’s Peter Burrows reports on Bloomberg Television’s “Bloomberg West.”
A new Apple Set-Top box might be an upgraded version of the current Apple TV, or it might be a new unit with a highly-improved user interface. Critics have claimed that the current Apple TV user interface is “unweildy.”
While it’s still a step behind the Roku 3, the Apple TV is an excellent streaming box, especially for those invested in the Apple ecosystem.
