Air temperature and wind chill will actually rise overnight. Southwest wind gusts of 38 miles per hour are expected to peak between 10 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. Wind gusts are expected to hold in the low 30 MPH range until about 11:00 a.m. or noon Saturday. Wind gusts are expected to continue through the weekend.
The Kane County Sheriff’s office has alerted motorists that travel in Kane County is hazardous, and requests that motorists limit any unnecessary travel until morning.
A more severe, and prolonged cold blast is forecast for early next week.
