A total of 5.5 inches of snow fell in Arlington Heights from about 12:30 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2013, and is continuing to fall as of 9:15 a.m. Sunday. The snow is a dry, powdery — susceptible to blowing and re-covering roads in high winds.
This snowfall report will be finalized when this Winter Storm Warning snow incident is finished. Another 1.5 inch of accumulated snow is expected to fall by 6:00 p.m. Sunday.
The Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6:00 p.m. A Wind Chill Warning goes into effect from January 5, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. until January 7, 2013 at 12 noon.
The prior snowfall was 12.5 inches of snow, which fell in Arlington Heights from Tuesday December 31, 2013 through Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 8:35 a.m.
