Chicagoland weather radar [LIVE PRECIPITATION INDICATOR RADAR] shows a band of fast moving snow and mixed precipitation approaching Cedar Rapids and the Mississippi River — moving southwest to northeast. We could see our first wet snow of the season today.

Snow patterns Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

Satellite images show that mostly cloudy conditions have moved in to the Midwest. Some clearing is expected after 6:00 p.m.

Snow is expected to fall in the northwest suburbs from about noon until 5:00 p.m. with an accumulation of 0.8 inch.

About one-half inch of snow is possible Friday and another 6-7 inches of snow on Saturday.

The NBC 5 STORM TEAM is forecasting gusts as high as 45 MPH for Thursday.

Gusty winds up to 30-34 MPH and even 45 MPH from the SSW are forecast for most of today. Winds are forecast to diminish after 7:00 p.m.

The air temperature could rise to 33 degrees about 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. today.
