Chicagoland weather radar [LIVE PRECIPITATION TYPE RADAR] shows snow precipitation in Iowa approaching northwest and northern Illinois. Mixed rain, snow and sleet is forecast to begin about 9:00 a.m. Rain and sleet should end by 11:00 a.m., but light snow is forecast to continue until about 2:00 p.m. Light snow is forecast to begin by about 6:00 p.m. and continue until about midnight, with some flurries continuing until 5:00 a.m. Wednesday. Gusty winds are forecast from SSW today then NW tonight. Forecast 18 MPH gusts increasing to about 37 MPH from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Snow is expected accumulate about 0.5 inch by noon, and another 0.4 inch is forecast tonight. Heavy snow is forecast for Wisconsin.
