Arlington Heights Weather Forecast: Falling Temps to 3 Degrees By 7 PM, Gusty Winds to 38 MPH Today Begins New Cold Blast

... #ad▼

A WIND CHILL WATCH is in effect from late Sunday until early Wednesday morning. The Winter Weather Advisory that was extended last night to 9:00 a.m. has been cancelled, but we’re likely to get a new Winter Weather Advisory tonight.

Chicagoland weather radar shows the snow is done for this morning, except for a small band passing to the west near Rockford at 6:25 a.m. Snow is forecast to start up again about midnight Saturday/Sunday and last until about midnight Sunday/Monday. Total accumulation forecast is 4.0 inches.

Snowfall accumulation yesterday and last night was about 1.0-1.25 inch with blowing snow, which was more icy than the dry powder we have seen most of this winter.

Satellite images and observations show that skies are clear over northern Illinois. Mixed clouds and sun today with clouds increasing after 9:00 p.m. with arriving precipitation.

The high temperature of 33 degrees for today was already recorded at 3:51p.m. at O’Hare. Temperatures are expected to fall during the day. The temperature was about 27 degrees at 7:00 a.m. with a wind chill of 15 degrees. An air temperature of 8 degrees with a wind chill of -13 is forecast for noon. Eight degrees and -16 degrees wind chill is forecast for 6:00 p.m. Saturday.
