Chicagoland weather radar shows snow advancing toward Chicagoland from the west — crossing the east side of Rockford at about 9:15 a.m. Snow flurries are expected to start before noon, and heavier snow showers are expected about noon. About 2.1 inches of snowfall expected by 5:00 p.m. The snow will come down intense and fast as a burst, but the Clipper will pass through quickly to keep down deep accumulation.
Yesterday’s afternoon and evening snowfall brought very dry, fluffy accumulation of 0.5 inch.
