A brand new grocery store in Prospect Heights, 1241 North Rand Road, is scheduled for Grand Opening on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 6:00 a.m., according to Gerry Schroeder, Store Manager for Ultra Foods at the new location.
Ultra Foods is working on the finishing touches and many of the shelves are stocked at the new anchor store for the Prospect Crossing Shopping Center at Rand Road and Olive Street, just south of John Hersey High School in Arlington Heights.
Photo from mid-November 2013 before shelves were stocked, and while the main front sign for Utra Foods was installed.
Prospect Crossings shopping center has become a vibrant shopping center, while the SouthPoint shopping center just to the west in Arlington Heights has many store vacancies.
The former Omni grocery store and Dominick’s grocery store at Prospect Crossings has been vacant since 2004. The 87,000-square-foot space has been entirely re-vitalized with new plumbing, vents, and internal design. Inside, the store looks clearly defined with bold lettering, which at first impression, looks to be well-designed and user friendly.
The Ultra website looks like it has an easy to use shopping list built in to one of its pages.
