Waverly Volunteer Fire Department and Virginia State Police troopers responded to crash involving an Amtrak train and a vehicle about 5:57 a.m. Thursday at Main Street (Route 40) in Waverly, Virginia.

Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance transported a victim from the vehicle to a local hospital.
Amtrak Northeast Regional train 174, operating from Norfolk to Boston, struck a vehicle at 5:57 am in Waverly, Virginia. There are no reported injuries to any of the 46 passengers. Amtrak report the train will continue on when released by local authorities.
