VIDEO with GRAPHIC LANGUAGE: Coal City tornado as seen from Berta Rd. near Spring Rd.
Firefighters and police responded from Coal City and Braidswood after a tornado touched down in Coal City about 12:20 p.m. Sunday. Several buildings are damaged and/or destroyed and vehicle were reported blown off of roadways.
Heavy damage is reported at the Easy Living RV park with a propane tank leak also reported leaking. The most amount of damage is at Berta Road and Spring Road.
A MABAS Task force from Division 10 was activated about 1:57 p.m. Sunday with firefighters and paramedics responding to assist Coal City firefighters and Braidwood firefighters. Firefighters and paramedics from Argonne, Brookfield, Clarendon Hills, Darien-Woodridge, Riverside, and Tri-State responded to staging at the Braidwood FPD fire station at 275 West Main Street.
