Two Metra train incidents occurred during the evening rush during Friday night’s rush hour. Downers Grove firefighter/paramedics and police responded about 5:45 p.m. Friday to a report of a pedestrian hit by a Metra train near the Downers Grove train station on the BNSF near Main Street. The person is reported to injured, and transported to a local hospital.
Metra train #1288 was involved in the incident.
In the second incident at about 7:25 p.m. Friday, an outbound Metra train #357 hit a pedestrian near the Fort Sheridan Metra train station near 3500 Western Avenue. Lake Forest firefighter/paramedics and Highland Park firefighter/paramedics were on the scene.
In both incidents, Metra provided service advisories which mentioned delays of about 60-120 minutes expected.
