Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:00 AM Sunday to a report that a man fell while unloading a truck full of wood when several pieces of wood fell on him at the upper level near Macy’s, 1 Woodfield Mall Schaumburg, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that the man was unconscious immediately after he fell.
The man was transported immediately with Advanced Life Support to Alexian Brothers Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at about 12:00 p.m.
The man was identified as Eric Terrell, age 44, of Maywood.
He apparently fell with several boxes that were inside the truck.
A Cook County Medical Examiner autopsy determined that Terrell died of multiple injuries when he fell and was crushed by falling boxes. Terrell’s death was ruled an accident
A co-worker that was unloading the truck with Eric Terrell was not injured.
