Food trucks will feed neighbors and friends at the kick-off for the holiday season at the annual Tree Lighting ceremony at North School Park held at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, November 29, 2013.
This year the Special Events Commission will add food trucks to the event from 4-6 p.m. Visitors can enjoy carolers, kettle corn, hot chocolate and special treats from food vendor trucks as Mayor Tom Hayes and Park District officials count down to the magical “flip of a switch” that will light up the holiday displays and the large tree that sits atop the fountain in North School Park.
Once the lights are on, the entire Downtown will feature tree-lined streets lit with twinkling white lights, which make for a beautiful backdrop while dining, shopping, catching a movie, or just hanging out.
