Satellite images show a band of clouds over Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin approaching Illinois — and just entering northwest Illinois.
Clouds are expected to gradually increase today with about 50-50 cloud cover tonight about midnight. No precipitation in the outlook for the next two days — looking at rain to begin about 6:00 a.m. Saturday, but more likely after noon Saturday.
Breezy southwest winds at about 18 mph decreasing starting at about 3:00 p.m. Gusts 22-26 mph expected between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
We’ll be lucky to hit 50 degrees today at about 3:00 p.m., and the breeze will keep the wind chill in effect with a wind chill high of 43 degrees, also at about 3:00 p.m. Anticipating upper 50s Saturday, and 60s Sunday. Normal high for today is 49 degrees at O’Hare. Record high is 78 degrees (1971).
