Maria Magdalena Corral, the mother of a teen abducted from her Ellenwood, Georgia home Tuesday was once arrested in February 2012 on charges she was helping a man traffic 500 pounds of marijuana. Corral’s charges were dropped in that case. The man she allegedly helped is one of the suspects in her daughter’s abduction — suspect Juan Alberto Contreras-Ramirez, age 40.

The other alleged kidnapper is Wildrego Jackson — a man with an extensive criminal history that includes cruelty to children, as well as drug and assault charges. Jackson, has at least 14 aliases, including Wildrego Johnson and Travis Gray. He was held Wednesday on a conspiracy to kidnap charge.

Wildrego Jackson spent time in prison in 2006 on cocaine, marijuana and obstruction of a law enforcement officer charges. According to state records, Wildrego Jackson was sentenced to five years in prison but served only one year of prison time.

The kidnappers released Ayvani Wednesday in the town of Conyers, Georgia, about 25 miles from her Ellenwood home southeast of Atlanta. Police detained two suspects in the case, but did not immediately charge them with involvement in the abduction.

Contreras-Ramirez and Wildrego Jackson are not the same men that were depicted in police sketches earlier this week.

Clayton County police reported Tuesday that Ayvani Hope Perez was abducted from a home in the Ellenwood neighborhood on Brookgate Drive after two armed men broke in and shot the family dog. The dog was not killed. Early in the investigation, the home invasion/abduction was reported to be a random crime.

The men demanded money and demanded jewelry at the home invasion. Police are denying reports of a ransom demand.

Ayvani Hope Perez was last seen wearing Star Wars pajama pants. Police believe two male/black suspects fled with the victim in a gray Dodge.

A nationwide Amber Alert was issued at around 3:00 a.m. today, but the girl has been found safe at about 11:40 a.m. CDT. Ellenwood, Georgia is about 10 miles southeast of Atlanta, Georgia.
