The Arlington Heights Police Department recently completed enforcement activities relating to IDOT’s designated Labor Day Holiday Enforcement Campaign. The campaign began August 16, 2013 and ended September 2, 2013. During the campaign, two roadside safety checkpoints were conducted, along with several DUI roving saturation patrols and seatbelt enforcement zones. The primary focus was to identify and apprehend motorists who chose to drive while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, without using their safety belts, or were committing licensing, equipment or other miscellaneous Illinois Vehicle Code traffic violations.
Enforcement activities resulted in the following cumulative arrests and citations:
2 = Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (DUI)
1 = Driving While License Revoked (Felony based on DUI Conviction)
4 = Driving While License Suspended
4 = Unlicensed Driving
1 = Driving While License Expired
2 = Warrant Arrests
7 = Speeding
12 = No Insurance
39 = Safety Belt Usage / Child Restraint
19 = Registration-related
25 = Equipment-related
10 = Other Miscellaneous Traffic Violations
