Maxwell Sherman, an 18-year-old who graduated from Barrington High School earlier this year, has been charged with killing a woman by strangulation. A murder investigation began August 22, 2013 when the naked body of Lauren Daverin was discovered about 10 p.m. on a footbridge over a pond in Rockville Centre, New York, according to the Nassau County Sheriff’s Department. News accounts report that Daverin was found a pool of blood, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Maxwell Sherman of Long Beach, N.Y., was arrested August 24, 2013 in connection with the death of an 18-year-old woman who also lived on Long Island, according to the Nassau County Sheriff’s office.
The former Barrington High School student was arraigned August 25, 2013 in Hempstead, N.Y., First District Court.
Sherman was also a student at Arnett Lines Elementary during his second- and third-grade years, and attended Barrington Middle School Station Campus during eighth grade. He only attended Barrington High School for one semester, the fall of 2012.
Sherman earned his diploma from Barrington 220 because he was able to transfer credits from other schools.
