Samsung unveiled its first smartwatch, the Galaxy Gear on September 4, 2013. The watch has a square shape and runs an Android operating system that is loaded with apps. It has a 1.63-inch, 320 x 320 pixel display. The phone stays unlocked when the smart watch is near it.
Initially, you will have to have the Samsung Galaxy Note III to get the Galaxy gear to work.
Later phones will work with Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition), and after release, the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S III, and Galaxy Note II. The Gear will be available September 25 in over 140 countries and early October in the United States for $299.
The galaxy Gear watch will be available in Jet Black, Mocha Gray, Wild Orange, Oatmeal Beige, Rose Gold, and Lime Green.
