Arlington Heights police received a report about 2:46 PM Saturday of a purse theft at Barnes & Noble, 13 West Rand Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders took a woman’s purse that was left unattended.
The victim placed her purse on the floor near a chair where she was sitting, but left the area of the chair to make a purchase.
The debit card she was using to make the purchase was in her pocket. She forgot her purse was back by the chair and she walked over to Trader Joe’s. As soon as she remembered that she left her purse at the book store, she returned, but her purse was already gone.
Inside the purse was her Illinois driver’s license, $5 cash, credit cards, and a checkbook.
The purse was described as a large teal green purse valued at $80.
No information on credit card activity was available.
The crime is reported to have occurred on Saturday August 3, 2013 between 2:30 p.m. and 2:45 p.m.
