Arlington Heights police responded about 5:25 PM Sunday to a report of an unwanted subject at Arlington international, 2200 West Euclid Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Richard J. Burrell, age 29, of the 4900 West Strong Street in Chicago was arrest after he kicked a security officer at Arlington International race course. Police received a report of an unwanted subject at Arlington International race course. Police arrived and a subject appeared to be intoxicated. Burrell and a friend were seen drinking and yelling at each other. The men were asked to leave. Burrell’s friend left, but Burrell continued to act disorderly. Security personnel attempted to remove Burrell from the property. Burrell pushed the security personnel. He kicked one security officer in the knee, which knocked him to the ground. Security officers were restraining Burrell when police arrived. Burrell received a cut on his right eyebrow and a scrape on his right elbow. Apparently, the security officer was not injured.
After he was handcuffed, he somehow was able to get his hands from behind his waist to the front of his body.
Burrell, with his injuries and highly intoxicated state, was transported by Arlington Heights Fire Department firefighter/paramedics to Northwest Community Hospital.
At the hospital Burrell continued to act aggressively, and was yelling profanities at health care workers. He was restrained while getting care at the hospital.
Richard J. Burrell Was charged with one count misdemeanor battery.
