Man and pizza safe after car rolls into an office complex pond — causing a scare of a repeat of an incident that drowned Henry Laseke in another pond at Arlington on the Ponds townhouse/condo neighborhood on Thursday July 25, 2013.
Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:21 AM Monday to a report of a car in a pond at 3850 North Wilke Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a car was in a pond across from an office building.
Firefighters immediately responded with a dive team/Squad 4 with a boat, an engine, an ambulance and a battalion chief.
Upon arrival, first responders learned that a pizza delivery man parked his car near the pond, went inside to deliver a pizza, and when he came out, he discovered his car had rolled into the pond.
Passersby had already called 911 to report that a car had rolled into the pond, and they weren’t sure whether any occupants were in the car.
