Arlington Heights police received more reports over the weekend of July 27th and July 28th of bicycle thefts at Hancock Square Apartments, 299 North Dunton Avenue, Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders burglarized a storage locker at an apartment building. Two Canondale R700 road bikes were reported stolen. One bike was a red Canondale R700 and one bike was a blue Canondale R700 — both valued at $1,000 each. The bikes were locked to a bike rack in the storage room. The storage room is only accessible by a key issued to residents by apartment management.
The police officer on the scene discovered pry marks on one of two doors of the storage room.
A Trek green bike valued at $800, and a blue men’s Diamond Insight 1 — a 17-inch wheel bicycle valued at $800 — were also reported stolen from the storage room.
The crimes are reported to have occurred between July 20, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. and July 27, 2013 at 9:00 a.m., and between July 27, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. and July 28, 2013 at 5:30 p.m.
