Chicago police and firefighters responded to 10:55 AM Tuesday a hazardous materials incident northwest of Riverside Plaza at 191 North Lower Wacker Drive Chicago, IL [STREET VIEW]. Traffic is disrupted near the downtown train stations for a hazardous materials investigation following reports of an obnoxious odor in the 100 block of North Lower Wacker Drive near Randolph Street.
Initial information is based on a lead that a liquid waste hauler truck dumped an unknown substance near a loading dock in the area or 151 North Lower Wacker Drive. The truck’s previous pickup was believed to be the Shedd Aquarium.
Wind is southwest at 7 mph. 87°F at 11:30 AM … Developing … The incident has been ongoing since about 7:00 a.m., but the hazardous materials team was called in about 10:55 a.m.
