Weather radar [LIVE RADAR] showers an area of showers and thunderstorms developing near O’Hare International Airport and Chicago’s West Side, and moving north. Radar was all clear for northeast Illinois at 10:40 AM, but by 11:40 a.m. multiple thundershower cells were developing and moving north.

Unstable air with convection is moving north in to northeast Illinois and it appears that a convergence line clashing with the lake breeze area of Lake Michigan may cause showers and thunderstorms to continue to develop today.
Morning clouds showed a lot of cumulus development with convection in the area.
The highest temperatures today are expected between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. but with added rain we may stay in the low 90s or upper 80s.
