VIDEO: Extrication operations and Flight for Life landing zone transfer after a minivan crashed into a tree early Wednesday.
Northbrook police and firefighter/paramedics responded to a 5:11 AM Wednesday car-tree crash at Huehl Road and Commercial Avenue Northbrook, IL. One male victim was found injured and trapped in a minivan at the southwest corner of the intersection. Northbrook firefighter/paramedics immediately went to work on extrication.
Since the extrication was difficult and prolonged, Flight for Life was called to respond. Estimated time of arrival was 6:07 a.m.
The medical helicopter landed in the landing zone at about 6:05 a.m. A young male adult was extricated about three minutes after the helicopter landed, and was transferred from the scene to the helicopter and transported apparently to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital.
No word if there were any other passengers in the vehicle.
