VIDEO: Crash scene during rescue of an adult female and two children from a car crash at the intersection of Arlington Heights Road and Rand Road in Arlington Heights.
Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:15 PM Monday to a crash involving a pickup truck and a Honda Civic at Arlington Heights Road and Rand Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics arrived to find a Honda Civic with severe front-end damage with three people still in the car, and a pickup truck with sever damage to the undercarriage.
One adult female and two children were injured, and were removed from the vehicle by Arlington Heights firefighter/paramedics. A second rescue ambulance was requested to the scene. All victims were transported to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
Witnesses reported that the pickup truck was southbound on Arlington Heights Road turning eastbound to Rand Road. The driver of the Honda Civic apparently failed to obey a red light for northbound Arlington Heights Road and crashed with the pickup truck.
The pickup truck was the second vehicle in line in the left turn lane. Another vehicle turning left to eastbound Rand Road cleared the intersection just ahead of the crash. The pickup truck driver was able to drive the pickup truck to a parking lot near the crash, on request of the police.
No word on any traffic citations.
