Radar at 7:55 p.m. CDT shows thunderstorm crossing the Mississippi River in west central Illinois. At 7:52 p.m. Peoria is under a Tornado Watch and a Severe Thunderstorm Warning. Storms could reach southwest Chicagoland about 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and northern suburbs and northwest suburbs about 11:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.

NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.
.DAY ONE…TONIGHT.
WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
THUNDERSTORMS…THE STRONGEST COULD PRODUCE:
HAIL TO THE SIZE OF HALF DOLLARS.
WIND GUSTS OVER 60 MPH.
FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING.
AND HEAVY RAIN.
AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:
SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED LATE THIS AFTERNOON INTO
EARLY THIS EVENING SOUTHEAST OF INTERSTATE 55 AND INTO NORTHWEST
INDIANA. ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS WILL MOVE INTO THE WESTERN
PORTIONS OF THE OUTLOOK AREA BY MID TO LATE
EVENING…POTENTIALLY SPREADING ACROSS THE REMAINDER OF THE
OUTLOOK AREA OVERNIGHT.
DISCUSSION:
SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED THROUGH EARLY THIS EVENING
OVER NORTHWEST INDIANA INTO EAST CENTRAL ILLINOIS. THERE IS A
SLIGHT CHANCE OF THESE STORMS BECOMING SEVERE WITH LARGE HAIL
AND DAMAGING WINDS A THREAT.
IN ADDITION…THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING OVER MISSOURI MONDAY
AFTERNOON WILL TRACK NORTHEAST INTO THE OUTLOOK AREA DURING THE
MID TO LATE EVENING AND CONTINUE INTO THE OVERNIGHT. SOME
POTENTIAL ALSO EXISTS FOR THESE STORMS TO BE SEVERE WITH
DAMAGING WINDS THE PRIMARY THREAT…THOUGH LARGE HAIL IS ALSO
POSSIBLE.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY.
SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE TUESDAY WITH A
HIGHER CHANCE TUESDAY EVENING AND TUESDAY NIGHT. SOME STORMS MAY
BECOME SEVERE WITH DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL THE MAIN THREATS.
HEAVY RAINFALL IS ALSO POSSIBLE…ESPECIALLY TUESDAY NIGHT.
ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE WEDNESDAY AND AGAIN SATURDAY
THROUGH MONDAY.
