Allie LaForce and Doug Gottlieb react to the Bulls surprising 93-86 win over the Heat in second round of the NBA playoffs. Watch “Lead Off” – Weekdays at Midnight ET on CBS Sports Network.
Dear Paul B Readers,
Monday night I watched a basketball game which featured otherworldly efforts from some average to above average players. They demonstrated some of the highest grade adrenalin that I have seen in quite a few years. These players, who are paid handsomely, were determined to give it their all. I love to see that. It was inspiring and heart warming to see these players who have “hearts of champions.” It is such sporting events that can carry a city on its shoulders. I am very proud of these hard-working Bulls, those who brought home a win for Chicago, while everyone, including Las Vegas odds-makers favored the Miami Heat 8-1. Those are significantly overwhelming odds, my friends. Nobody expected them to play with these “far better athletes.” Kudos to Nate, Noah, Marco, King Jimmy, Booz, Marcus, Nazr, Cookie, Marcus T, Capt’ Kirk, Lu, and the other bench players. Everyone who has contributed thus far, have the hearts of champions. I tip my hat to you all for the maximum effort.
The great fans of Chicago salute you players as well. All we expect from our “teams” is that you leave it all out on the court, and leave the politics to the politicians. Thanks for the memories, and more importantly, the lesson of hard work, commitment and loyalty.
Kurt Rambis breaks down the Bulls’ intensity as they dispatched the Heat in Game 1. Nate Robinson and Jimmy Butler combined to score 48 points in the Bulls’ 93-86 win over the Heat in Game 1.
