Prospect Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:46 AM Tuesday to a report of a man that jumped in front of train near the Prospect Heights Metra Train station, 101 South Wolf Road Prospect Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a northbound train hit the man. The man ran out of the woods nearby and jumped onto the tracks.
Train #103, scheduled to depart Chicago at 9:00 a.m. and arrive Antioch at 10:34 a.m., is presently stopped at Prospect Heights due to a pedestrian incident. Also, inbound train #112, scheduled to arrive Chicago at 10:40 a.m., is stopped short of the station due to the pedestrian incident ahead involving train #103. Updates will be posted as soon as more information is available.

According to witness reports the incident appears to have been a suicide. The man has been identified as a Mount Prospect resident, whose identity is being withheld.
