ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (April 4, 2013) – Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) is holding a free seminar to provide individuals with guidance and resources for expressing their healthcare wishes before an unexpected medical circumstance occurs. The program is offered by NCH’s Palliative Care Services.
Join the Rev. Gwynne Wright of NCH’s Spiritual Care Services from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16, at the NCH Auditorium, 800 W. Central Road, Arlington Heights, as she leads “Making Healthcare Decisions Work for You and Your Family.”
Wright will discuss the importance of creating an advanced healthcare plan and the steps needed to create an individual plan. Several activities are planned that will help participants determine the right path for future healthcare decisions. Participants will learn about necessary healthcare decision forms, the role of healthcare providers in setting goals of care and financial planning.
Specialists from Midwest Palliative & Hospice CareCenter will review care options for complex illnesses, explain how to prepare an advance directive and discuss patients’ healthcare rights and legal options. NCH chaplains will be available to assist attendees with completing their healthcare decisions forms. To register for the seminar, call 847.618.4968. Registration is required.
