Radio Sign Off from retiring Buffalo Grove Police Chief Steve Balinski.
At 2:36 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013 Buffalo Grove Steve Balinski signed off and marked the end of his tour of duty “10-42” and the end of his career as a Buffalo Grove Police Chief and Buffalo Grove Police Officer. Balinski served 36 years with the police department, and over nine years as police chief.
Police officers, firefighters, village employees, family and friends applauded Balinski, who greeted them with hugs and handshakes today.
“Gentlemen, ladies, thank you very much. It’s been my pleasure to be associated with you guys. God bless, be safe, see you around. Take care.”
— Steve Balinski
His retirement began with a bit of humor. A senior living facility bus from Belmont Village arrived with a sign that said, “Chief, your ride’s here!”
