PALOS TOWNSHIP – A 19-year-old Burr Ridge man who had a blood alcohol content three times the legal limit was charged Wednesday afternoon with aggravated DUI for a fatal vehicle crash in Palos Township, Sheriff Thomas J. Dart said.
About 3:10 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, a 2002 GMC Denali was reportedly traveling southbound in the northbound lane of La Grange Road when it struck, head-on, a 2002 Nissan Sentra near 105th Street near Palos Hills.
The driver of the Nissan Sentra, a 64-year-old man from Orland Park who was going to work, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead.
The 19-year-old driver of the Denali, Nicholas Puccinelli, was also taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. Cook County Sheriff’s Police arrested Puccinelli at the hospital.
Puccinelli is scheduled to appear in Bond Court, tomorrow (Thursday, March 14) at 9 a.m. at the Bridgeview Courthouse.
