Arlington Heights police received a report about 9:10 AM Monday retail theft at Walgreens, 1000 East Northwest Highway Arlington Heights, IL Police received a report that a female customer arrived in the store and bought a box of Clairitin and some other items. When she left the store, the theft sensor activated. the offender returned to the register to re-swipe the Claritin to de-activate the sensor.When she left a second time, the sensor activated again. When the theft sensor activated again, she told the employee she was not stealing anything and she needed to get to her car because her kids were waiting. She was allowed to leave. After review of surveillance footage, the offender was seen taking medicine off of the shelves and placing the items in a shopping basket. She then walked down another aisle — out of view of the security camera. The following items were discovered missing from the aisle: Seven boxes of Claritin Tabs ($176.90), four boxes of Zyrtec ($113.57) and three boxes of Claritin Allergy 24 ($93.90).
The offender left in a black Oldsmobile sedan. She was described as a female/white 5’6″ 200 LBS with black hair.
Total loss of product was valued at $384.37
The crime is reported to have occurred on February 9, 2013 between 4:30 p.m. and 4:37 p.m.
