A total of 3.75 inches of sleet and snow fell from about 1:00 p.m. Thursday until Friday at 1:00 a.m. Snow cover at 6:30 a.m. Friday in Arlington Heights was 8.75 inches on grassy areas and unplowed pavement areas. The snow was wet and good packing, but is now brittle and crunchy.
At 6:45 a.m. Friday radar shows no snow in the northwest suburbs. Lake effect light snow bands are headed due south toward northwest Indiana.
As of 8:15 a.m. streets are fairly quiet.
