Arlington Heights police received a report about 5:15 PM Thursday of a wallet theft at Panera Bread, 31 South Evergreen Avenue. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders removed a black wallet from the purse — possibly while it was on the window ledge next to the table. The victim realized the theft occurred after being contacted by her bank about several fraudulent charges at area stores. The wallet contained several credit/debit cards, keys, a driver’s license and cash.
The crime is reported to have occurred on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 between 8:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
