Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:30 PM Saturday to a report of a jumper from a second floor balcony at Woodfield Mall in front of JC Penny Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a male, age 24, jumped intentionally from the second floor balcony. People on the scene reported the male victim was conscious and breathing. His injuries are reported to be non-life-threatening.
A friend with the man reported that the victim jumped on his own. The victim was transported to a local hospital.
Coincidentally, a woman fell down some stairs near Sephora. A second ambulance responded to Woodfield Mall minutes after the jumping incident for the second emergency. No word was available on the extent of her injuries, but they were apparently non-life-threatening also.
