Police Radio Communications: Sgt. Scott Kristiansen signs off for the last time at the Buffalo Grove Police Department, and is congratulated and given good wishes by a Northwest Central Dispatch System telecommunicator/dispatcher.
Buffalo Grove police and firefighters said goodbye to a dedicated police officer and traffic safety enforcer on New Year’s Eve, Monday afternoon. Sgt. Scott Kristiansen conducted annual revues of traffic enforcement efforts related to specific hot spots, traffic concerns and high crash locations in the Village of Buffalo Grove.
The top five crash locations for 2011 were:
1. Buffalo Grove and Lake Cook Road
2. Arlington Heights Road and McHenry Road
3. Arlington Heights Road and Lake Cook Road
4. Lake Cook Road and McHenry Road
5. Buffalo Grove Road and Dundee Road
Sgt. Kristiansen, as Traffic Unit Supervisor, was instrumental in identifying traffic trouble areas, training patrol officers to increase safety awareness concerning the trouble spots, and in working on ways to improve safety of the intersections. Details on the police department included speed enforcement, turning restrictions enforcement, seat belt enforcement, overweight truck enforcement and other traffic issues.
Kristiansen also served as a major accident investigator at crashes in Buffalo Grove and Lake County. He has been a police officer who cares about the safety of citizens and motorist in Buffalo Grove.
