Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:19 PM Monday to a report of a drug overdose victim near Sunset Meadows Park. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a male victim, age 19, overdosed on heroin in a parked blue Honda. Police and firefighter/paramedics had trouble locating the vehicle, but were then updated that the victim was in a car parked behind the apartments on South Dwyer Avenue, just east of Sunset Meadows Park.
Police located the victim, who was with a female, in an east parking lot behind the apartments. The female was alert and standing. The male was immediately transported to Northwest Community Hospital with Advanced Life Support.
Police investigated the scene and searched a field with flashlights. Palatine police responded with a K-9 unit to “sniff” the car to determine if there was a positive identification of drugs indicated in the car. The vehicle was later towed to Arlington Heights Police Headquarters for further investigation.
Police also transported the female to Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters. No word on any arrest or charges.
