VIDEO: Two semi-trailer tractor trucks and three semi-trailers destroyed Thursday near I-355, North Avenue, Route 53 and Rolhlwing Road.
Addison Fire Protection District firefighters responded about 1:00 PM Thursday, December 27, 2012 to a special alarm for a fire involving two trucks and three semi-trailer trucks at 799 South Rohlwing Road in Addison. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that trucks were on fire in a parking lot two blocks north of North Avenue near I-355. Firefighters reported fully-involved tractor trucks and semi-trailers fully-involved with fire.
The owners or drivers of at least one of the trucks reported that the truck’s engine was off and that all electronics were off.
Several people reported seeing heavy black smoke for miles around the fire.
Addison firefighters called a special alarm for a prolonged operation to extinguish the fire.
Two tractor trucks were destroyed and three semi-trailers were destroyed.
