The FBI, along with federal, state and local law officers, are asking for the public’s assistance in locating and apprehending Jose Banks (left/CAPTURED) and Ken Conley, who escaped from the Metropolitan Correctional Center in downtown Chicago Tuesday morning. (FBI photos).
FBI agents and officers from the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force and Chicago police arrested Banks about 11:30 p.m. Thursday in the 2300 block of North Bosworth Avenue near Clybourn Avenue and Ashland Avenue in Chicago.
Banks and his cellmate, Kenneth Conley, convicted bank robbers awaiting sentencing, were last seen in their jail cell about 10 p.m. Monday. About 7 a.m. Tuesday, jail employees arriving for work saw the bedsheet “rope” dangling from a hole in an exterior wall near the 15th floor. The cellmates used sheets tied together to lower themselves from the opening. They hailed a cab near Michigan Avenue and Congress Parkway.
Kenneth Conley is still at large.
Escapee descriptions …
Jose Banks: male/black, age 37, 5’8” tall, 160 pounds
Kenneth Conley male/white, age 38, 6’0” tall, 185 pounds
The FBI urges citizens to call 312-421-6700 with any information about the convicts. Of course, if citizens don’t remember the FBI number, they can call 9-1-1.
