Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Protection District request an extra alarm to the third level for an EMS Box for ambulances on the southbound Tri-State Tollway, just south of Deerfield Road, for a crash involving a school bus. Firefighter/paramedics initially responded to a tollway crash about 9:35 a.m.
Deerfield-Bannockburn immediately call for a second level for a crash involving a school bus and a box truck on the southbound tristate (i-94) just south of deerfield road at about 10:00 a.m. Ambulances from Buffalo Grove, Glencoe, Lake Forest, Long Grove, Northbrook, Northfield are mutual aid for the second level.
A third alarm was requested at about 10:21 am. Ambulances from Wilmette, Niles, North Chicago and on other department were due on the third alarm. A total of 15 ambulances are due to respond to the EMS Box Alarm to the third level. There are reports of children injured and being transported. Injuries are reported to be minor.
Staging for ambulances is at Deerfield rd and Parkway, just west of interchange. mount prospect is mutual aid for change of quarters.
The crash occurred in the right lanes with at least three right lanes blocked. Traffic in left lanes is moving.
