VIDEO: Personal injury crash in the intersection at Arlington Heights Road and Euclid Avenue Wednesday morning when cars hit head-on.
Arlington Heights police responded about 10:14 AM Wednesday to a two-car crash with injuries at Arlington Heights Road and Euclid Avenue. Two people were injured in the crash and transported to Northwest Community Hospital. Arlington Heights Road was blocked in both directions. Euclid Avenue was blocked for eastbound traffic at Evergreen Avenue. Westbound traffic was only permitted to go straight at Arlington Heights Road.
A witness waiting in the eastbound turn lane from Euclid Avenue to northbound Arlington Heights Road reported that the green Mazda Miata was southbound on Arlington Heights Road when the driver turned left in front of a northbound red Ford Taurus. The green Miata spun around 180-degrees, while the red Taurus front-end slammed into an overhead traffic light pole standard and then rolled across the intersection to the opposite corner of the intersection.
