A small plane with three people aboard crashed into a home near an airport in Jackson, Miss. Tuesday evening and authorities did not have immediate information on casualties. Video has no audio from source.
About 5:00 p.m. Tuesday Piper PA-32 Cherokee 6 single-engine aircraft crashed into a home on Marcus Butler Drive near West Capitol Street. The plane had engine trouble just minutes after takeoff from Hawkins Field a few blocks away.
Resident Loretta Jamison, who was in the home, escaped by jumping out a window. The only other resident, Roosevelt Jamison, wasn’t home at the time of the crash. The house immediately became engulfed in flames.
One person on the ground was transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in good condition.
