Schaumburg police responded about 8:36 PM Friday to a report of a suspicious incident in the 200 block of Verde Drive. Police received a report that two unknown subjects were walking around the subjects house.
Police were out with a suspicious vehicle described as a green Honda on Plum Grove Road just south of Thacker Street near Conant High School about a one-half mile drive away. The vehicle was westbound on Thacker when an alert police officer spotted the vehicle. back at the house, police found a broken window and suspected a burglary or attempted burglary had occurred. An evidence technician was called to the scene.
Police were looking for a subject walking in the area of Verde and Conant High School wearing all black and described as a male/Hispanic, 21-years-old, 5’4″ 220 LBS.
Schaumburg and Hoffman Estates police setup a perimeter while police investigated a rear basement window, and went to work with a K-9 unit searching for the suspect. A K-9 unit(s) discovered two pairs of gloves in a wooded area nearby. No suspects were found as a result of the search of the area as of 10:15 p.m. Saturday.
At least one of the suspects, a male apparently from the suspicious vehicle, was transported in custody to Schaumburg Police Department Headquarters. Police suspect the person(s) in the vehicle were looking to pick up at least two suspects who had fled on foot.
