Vermont man Roger Pion who authorities say was angry over an arrest and used his tractor like a monster truck to drive over seven police vehicles, is being held on $50,000 bail. Now, the Orleans County Sheriff’s Department has a shortage of wheels.
Orleans County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Vermont farmer Roger Pion after he smashed seven police cars while driving over them with a heavy farm tractor with four 6-foot tandem wheels.
Newport city police assisted the county sheriffs and stopped the red tractor about two miles from the crime scene.
Pion has been charged with felony unlawful mischief, misdemeanor mischief, leaving the scene of an accident, grossly negligent operation, and aggravated assault on Newport City police after he allegedly tried to back the tractor over a city cruiser during pursuit.
