Police in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin early in the incident said one suspect had been “put down” outside a Sikh temple and that they did not know if other shooters are inside the building. Authorities were called to the temple Sunday morning with a report of shots fired at about 10:25 a.m. CDT.

The suspect who allegedly shot and killed six people and injured three others outside the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin, 7512 South Howell Avenue in Oak Creek Wisconsin has been identified as Wade Michael Page. Early on he was reported as active duty military member of the U.S. Army. He is in fact a veteran.
A police officer with 20-years on the police force and tactical experience was shot multiple times while he tended to a shooting victim at the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin. He is expected survive. The alleged offender/shooter Wade Michael Page was shot by another police officer in front of the Sikh temple. The offender/shooter was killed.
Including the shooter; four people are reported dead inside the temple, and three people are reported dead outside the temple.
Early during the incident, people asked news helicopters not to feed video of aerial views to the public, because the views could threaten tactical operations.
Several people were reported injured with gunshot wounds inside of the temple. Early on police are operated with the belief that multiple perpetrators might be involved at the crime scene.
A cream-colored vehicle and a green-colored vehicle were reported leaving the scene. Later on Sunday, police, the county sheriff’s bomb squad, and federal agents surrounded a neighborhood in Cudahy, Wisconsin, which is about five miles north of Oak Creek. Law officers evacuated several homes and searched a duplex. The suspect’s girlfriend has bee reported to be in custody, but police this morning have said no suspects are in custody.
The crime has been labeled an act of domestic terrorism. Sikh are known be confused with Muslims, who are in turn perceived as associated with radical Islamic terrorism.
The population of Oak Creek, Wisconsin was estimated at 33,946 in 2009.
