Crash scene at Bennett Avenue and Pleasant Hill Boulevard and at Cedar Street and Pleasant Hill Boulevard.
Palatine firefighter/paramedics and police responded about 5:17 p.m. to a report of a car into a house at Bennett Avenue and Pleasant Hill Boulevard. Rescuers received a report that a silver Chevy Camaro crashed into the side of a house, and a male driver inside the car was unconscious. Rescuers also received a report that a crash occurred down the block at Cedar Street and Pleasant Hill Boulevard, which was part of the same incident. The second driver was not injured in the crash.
The Chevy Camaro was involved in a crash with a silver Toyota Camry. The Camaro continued west about one block and proceeded into the side yard of a house on Bennett Avenue at Pleasant Hill Boulevard. A medical issue with the driver of the Camaro may have caused the crash, but this was not confirmed by authorities at the crash scene. The Camaro also struck a gas meter, but firefighters reported no gas was leaking.
The man was extricated from his car by 5:36 p.m. and transported a local hospital.
Nicor was called to the scene to check the condition of the gas meter.
