Arlington Heights police received a report about 6:17:05 PM Monday of a suspicious incident in the 600 block of East St. James Street. Police received a report that a female rang the doorbell and asked if the homeowner was home. The person in the home replied ‘not at this time’ and tried to close the door, when the offender tried to force her way inside. The person inside the house was able to close the door and lock the door with the offender outside. The offender then walked away, but no direction of travel information was available.
The offender was described as grungy looking, about 20-years-old with brown hair, and wearing a black T-shirt, long pants, blue jeans or khakis.
